After several weeks of extensive editing, I'm on chapter 5, page 58 of 250 in Bloodline: Broken, and I am ecstatic. It's taken a ton of work to get here, but I keep reminding myself that this is the last major edit, and I'm done. Then it's just reading through it a few times before I turn it over to my proofreader. Piece of cake.
This stage of it is admittedly like pulling teeth. I spent a good half hour earlier tonight adding two paragraphs to the beginning of a chapter. But I do it because I love it, because the story demands it, and because if I'm putting my stamp on it, you can be damn sure every aspect of it's going to be beautiful.
The best way to get through it is to just focus on the work, and keep that finish line in sight. I'm pretty sure I can handle that.
